Last updated · July 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how AVAL Holdings OÜ uses cookies and similar technologies on this website, in accordance with Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy Directive), Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Estonian Electronic Communications Act.

§ 01

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet or mobile) when you visit it. They allow the website to recognise your device, remember certain information about your visit and ensure the correct technical functioning of the service. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixel tags and web beacons.

§ 02

2. Categories of cookies

Cookies may be classified according to different criteria:

  • By origin — first- party (set by AVAL) or third-party (set by external providers);
  • By duration — session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored for a defined period);
  • By purpose — strictly necessary, functional, analytics/statistics, or advertising/profiling cookies.
§ 03

3. Cookies used on this website

This Website currently uses only strictly necessary cookies and comparable technologies that are required for its technical operation, basic functionality, security and legal compliance. Pursuant to Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC and § 103³ of the Estonian Electronic Communications Act, such cookies do not require prior consent.

Typical purposes include: maintaining the session, remembering your language preference, ensuring load balancing, storing your cookie choices, and protecting against fraudulent or abusive use of the service.

We do not use advertising, marketing, retargeting or third-party profiling cookies. We do not build behavioural profiles of visitors.

§ 04

4. Analytics and future cookies

Should we introduce analytics, performance-measurement or marketing cookies in the future, they will be activated only after you have provided prior, freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent through a compliant cookie banner, in accordance with Article 4(11) and Article 7 GDPR. You will be able to withdraw your consent at any time with the same ease as you gave it.

§ 05

5. Managing and disabling cookies

You can control and delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view stored cookies, delete them individually or as a whole, block cookies from specific websites, or block all cookies. Instructions are usually available in the "Help", "Privacy" or "Settings" section of your browser.

Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may impair the proper functioning of the Website and prevent access to certain features.

§ 06

6. Personal data and cookies

Where cookies enable the processing of personal data, such processing is carried out in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which sets out in detail the controller, legal bases, retention periods, recipients and the rights available to you as a data subject under the GDPR.

§ 07

7. Changes to this policy

This Cookie Policy may be updated from time to time in order to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in applicable legislation. The current version is always available on this page, indicating the date of the last update.
